30840
Assembling the Line applies repetitive labour as a methodology for sculpting. The process consists of manually cutting 100 timber beams on a 40°C blade resulting in 30840 individual wood shavings. The work seeks to explore the relationship between quantification and obliteration. In contrast to the industrial assembly line, where there is a clear beginning and end to the production of objects, Assembling the Line creates as it destroys. Thus blurring the line between production and product.
